Wall

We have built a wall of silence,
Brick by brick,
Stone upon stone.
With begging nails, we scratch lines,
Counting days, waiting for the end.

In dreams, we see the "broken wall,"
Yet silence remains the only truth—
The sole yard of life,
The only safe enclosure.

This is the wall’s design:
To smother every bond,
To daub its weight upon all affinity.
